993 Fever Runs High!!!

I think I'm nuts... taking the red-eye tomorrow night to Miami... arriving at 5:25 AM to buy a 993 Cab that I've never seen... one of our Pelicanites has looked at it and emailed me pics, and I've had the PPI completed by The Connection Porsche dealer in Miami, but WOW, I hope this all goes smoothly...

THEN, I'm driving it 2760 miles back home to Southern California.... ahhhhh to be young and stupid.

It'll be an experience!!!

Holy crap, what a great idea. Have a good time. Remember, with a 993, your credit card replaced that rusty ole toolbox.

Very cool. That funny wig is gonna be windblown all to hell be the time you get home.

If you happen through Dallas on Saturday morning and have a few minutes, we're having a get together at a local Porsche collector's home. Email me if you want the skinny. Best of luck on the trip. It will be one you'll remember!!

HAHahahahahaha. So true. And I never think about that when I dream of a 993.

But we'll all see pictures of that bad boy when he gets back here. Good luck!

Richard, That'll be fun. I would strongly recommend picking up a bra for the car if it doesn't have one, you will be killing thousands of bugs and little rocks at break-neck speed. Just from Miami to Georgia will be more bugs than you've ever seen in your life. Being that you were concerned about detailing questions and dust on a black car, (in another post), I'm sure that you don't want to sand-blast your new car.

Take it you have a V-1? If not, that's an essential. Have fun, buddy! That's what memories are made of!

Single driving a 993 cab coast to coast. Your goal should be to see how long it takes. You have to represent for the P4 (Pelican Parts P#*Y Patrol.)

Other than that, bring a bond card. Never pass up a chance to take a chance. It's only jail.

Bra came with the car and I bought a midnight blue metallic '96 C2 in Latrobe, PA on Sat. It has a built-in K40, front and rear with in-dash display.

Richard,

If you need help or want to crash for a few hours, give a ring... am right off of a highway. Or call and we can meet you at a rest stop.

Do not plan to buy fuel in Phoenix. Casa Grande or Eloy (east of PHX) is 15c cheaper a gallon... This may help you along the way:

Dammit! The 993 fever is contagious. I've got a conference next week, a ton of prep to do, and have just spent the last hour combing through Rennlist and PCA ads for early 993s. Lust is baaaaad.

Wow, all the way to Florida to buy a 993 when California is crawling with them.
Is this car an exceptional find or are 993 cabs rare in these parts?

Hey Tony, if it'll give you a push in the right direction, you can take my car out for a drive while I'm teching at Tischer's on Sat.
