3.6 &G50 conversion in 69 T
 

I am reading all about this conversion in past posts on PP but I have a few quick questions some one may quickly help with.

1. Can I still run 15 inch wheels or are 16 a must. I wasn't planning on flaring the rear archs but would be using 7's at the back. I was hoping fitting 7R rims would be ok ? any advice

2. I want to fit a G50 box (as it comes with the motor) now whats the easiest way to fit this. Can I use the torsion bar set up from a late 3.2, didn't they have a G50. Or is it easiest to remove them and fit coilovers.....or is there another way ???

You will have to do surgery for the G50 conversion. This means cutting out the torsion tube and replacing it with one that is compatible with the g50. Not a normal DIY project but it is possible. I think there is someone that does a short housing G50 that works with 915 mounts. Anyone?

Ok things are becoming a little clearer.
So far I am looking at removing the torsion bars and fitting coil overs. Has anyone done this that can help me out with what these parts cost. And the best source for them. This will then mean I do not have the shorten the box and also have to move the engine, I can then use the original clutch mech. I guess I would therefore need to move the gearbox mounts.

My next question refers to the clutch, are all G50 hydraulically operated. If so are these parts obtainable and how much or can a cable mech be uised. The car is a 69 T and is LHD.

My understanding and i may be wrong is you have to use the g50 pedals, i believe you will have to alter the rear floor pan of the car also, the shifter will also have to be changed or modified, dont forget the standard conversion parts you will need, Kevin

I have a set of coilovers and rose jointed adjustable spring plates, I will see if I can get them on the bike tomorrow

All G50's have hyd. clutches. I don't think that it would be worth it to go with a cable clutch. It would be a ton of work.
