Early 911 Sportomatic Numbers
I need some help with numbers and information about my car. I have a 1970 911E Sportomatic with these numbers:
9110201193 6208414 I have been doing some research on the net looking for information about it. Here's what I found...correct me if I'm wrong: 911 [model] 0 [ year - 1970] 2 [ T/E/S - E] 0 [ Coupe ] 1193 [ Serial ] 6 [ ? ] 2 [ E ] 0 [ 1970 ] 8 [ Sportomatic ] 414 [ Build ] Now, if I'm correct, here's the delemma: I found a car for sale just like mine: HERE . The description says "ONE OF A FEW ; 1970 Porsche 911-E Sportomatic. Only 410 of this engine model released in that year ( documented )PCOA. " If there were only 410, how can my build number be 414? Anyone know anything about this car [rarity, value, etc.]? Feed me... 1970 911E Sportomatic sunroof coupe. 65K kilometers ( 40K miles ) Ivory White Original Porsche 8-track player Thanks, Bradley

Porsche didn't always start the serial numbers / engine numbers at zero. I think that the first 11 or so were reserved for prototypes? I would guess yours would be one of the very last off of the line that year...
