Anyone recovered their consol? I may be giving it a try.

Never done a console. Was going to try and recover the AC under dash knee pad vent carrier. The substrate being ABS, trying to find a thin simulated leather vinyl w/o a cloth fabric backing and a small amount of ‘landau top’ contact adhesive which most recommend, the $ of this glue wasn’t worth me recovering at this time. There’s plenty of u-tube info.
Things to do: Have a big table, take pictures of folds and angles, remove old covering and make a pattern, have a heat gun or hair dryer to get the vinyl fabric material soft and pliable and dry fit allowing enough excess that will be trimmed later. I’d start on the largest area first, gluing down the bigger area will allow it to set and hold as the corners and curves will require finagling. Apply and glue down in small workable sections. Allow that adhesive to flash over per instructions, have a small roller to make good contact laying out the material flat. Some vinyl material/products have a bit of stretch to go around curves. Use plenty of clamps when folding over seams. Know how to make proper cuts and how to fold over the edges.
