Ok what filter Mahle OC-59 or OC-61

OK, I have a few OC-61 filters in my inventory. I have used the OC-61 for my 1971 T for the entire time I have owned it. Now nearly all the sites, are showing OC-59. The Mahle site is silent on early Porsche

The OC-61 differs from the OC-59 due to the increased diameter of the threaded port (thanks John Walker). I understand (or at least I thought so) that the OC-61 was for model years 1971 and earlier and OC-59 was for MY's 1972 and later.

Has something changed?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

Hi Dan I ran into the same issue as you when it came time to order some new filters.
It seems the numbers have changed and the new OC59 are the same thread size as the OC61 and they fit my 71 tank just fine. The OC54 filter has the larger threaded hole that fits the 1973 tank.
When I bought my 73T I ordered some OC54 filters only to discover the PO of the car had changed the tank to a 71 tank so now of have some of those filters on my shelf and no place to use them.
Thanks
Mike
