Now Iīm confused, Explane this if you can... Engine Q.

Yesterday I mounted on a 3.3L Intercooler on my 3.0L 930, today when I tried to start it up it doesnt idle at all, so I check all tubes and connections but find nothing, anyway today I switch back to the old parts and itīs idle perfect!!??

Every valve and other functions where build on the new parts, the only thing I can come up with is that this valve (i dont now the name, shows at the pic) got longer tubes than the original ones, can this have caused the problem??

Thanks
Jocke

Looks like a nice installation, Jocke. When you say it won't idle, do you mean it won't start at all, or idles badly? The AAV might not be letting in enough air.

It looks like that AAV (Aux Air Valve - bypasses the throttle butterfly when warming up, to cause higher idle) is hooked up to the intercooler now? Where was it hooked up before? Have you verified that it is opening properly when you try to start the car? The length shouldn't make much of a difference IMO.

Any interest in making a pipe kit for me so I can add an intercooler to my '77? What are you doing about the recirculation valve? Did you add a BOV?

I am guessing that you have a vacume leak somewhere. If you suspect that valve disconnect it and see if it idles. Check your o-rings if you have any

Found it!

It was where the tubes from the WUR connected to the Intercooler, theres the same diameters on both valves but isnt on the Intercooler, one is a little bit thinner so the WUR didnīt get enogh air, so now I moved it a little bit closer to the cooler.(shorter tubes) I also twisted the idle screw out 3 turns.

The problem now is that itīs getting so much fuel, how can that be, can it be like I need to adjust my CO and in that case how can that change just of mounting the cooler?

Colin: Offcourse i can build you a set of pipes, but you now I live in Sweden so I guess the shipment cost will be expensive, I will put up pics on every part I made for the building, itīs not that hard to make it by your self..
And yes I use a BOV, you should here the sound now with the open air-filter and the BOV!!

Sean: I tried do disconnect the valve and the car didnīt start at all, but if I remove the small vaccumtube the idle will rise.

Jocke, I'm glad you got your problem worked out.

I would really like to see pictures of all the parts you made. From reading your previous posts, it appears you were able to install a 930 intercooler to your 3.0 930 without having to get the rest of the intake pieces from a later car.

You have done the really expensive work - the R&D! Maybe a few of us can benefit from what you figured out.
