911 SC versus 914-6
Ok here is the deal. I have a 914-6 with carbs on a 2.7 and I have a 77 911 with an 81 sc engine it. The 914-6 is 10 times faster and is basically a stock 2.7 with cis cams and the carbs. The sc motor is stock with cis. That all being said SHOULD this be? I figured they would be very comparible?
Major question is that at about 2000-3000 on the SC motoer surges and can't seem to get that surge out with mixture adjustments. Could The WUR be all my problem or maybe because I still am using the 77 fuel pump do it? I replaced the fuel filter yesterday and it did not do much. I have played with timeing with no big results. When I punch it it takes off but more like a 944 rather than a 911. I don't have alot to compare with as the only porsche around here besides mine are a 356 sc and a 400HP 930 turbo. I am sure that the 2 cars should be somewhat close? Thanks Ben |

The SC isn't running right, when it is it will be faster than the 2.7
I've driven a 914 with a very well sorted out 2.7 with CIS, cams, some head work, headers, etc. My 911 is faster (in a straigt line). |

Is this sort of the same question as your other post?
