Need fuel rails for EFI conversion from CIS

I am putting together a package to convert my 3.0 CIS to full sequential EFI, using the stock CIS intake runners and air box.

I have been looking for an aftermarket set of fuel rails that maintain the stock injector spacing, and so far have only found them available from Patrick Motorsports.

They are nice, but I was wondering if anyone has come across some lower-cost options, perhaps using extruded fuel rail. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can get blank fuel rail from Jegs/Summit .. Cut it to the length you want, mark the injector spots, drill and counter sink, tap the ends and make some mounts. Easy. The top and bottom of the injectors are held in with "O" rings so sub thousands tolerance is not required.

I made vacuum rails from fuel rail stock- it was super easy to machine. All I had was a drill press. Piece of cake.

Tony at Bitzracing will likely sell you the injector hole adapters and fuel rails.

I did what you mentioned with the fuel rail stock. It’s doable, but it’s a bit of work and requires some tooling. I happened on a cheap porting tool on eBay for the -8 ORB end fittings. These could have been npt. The injector holes were drilled and reamed 13.5mm with a 1/4” through hole and a little chamfer for the o ring to slide in (if I remember correctly). The hardest part is the hold downs.

It all works and has been running in my car for a while.

Rails

While working with RHD to help develop their ITBs for the 911 engine, I reviewed a few of the proto revisions.....and this is a set of rails from one of the early iterations.....they are a little colorful, but that can be easily remedied, if required. You'll need to make your own mounting brackets........but they are yours, if you want them.....

regards,
al
