74 bosch dizzy with ball bearing
hi guys,has anyone ever seen a bosch dizzy with a good sized steel ball bearing on the top plate ? it's held by small piece of black sheet metal with a concave end to hold the bearing.it seems to move back and forth about a 1/2 inch.any help is appreciated.T.C.

It is used to hold plate down while allowing it to rotate

thanks,I don't know when they discontinued this apparatus but do you think it's worth keepjng or omit it.thanks,t.c.

i would lube it with ignition grease and keep it
