Install it loose and see where it wants to be as it rides up and down. Considering the age, a factory spec may not be what is suitable for your build. Bob

como there is a lot of free room. on the rail itself after you install it.I would not leave it loose it will be hard to make it tight if you did not do this job before...i hope your rail has not rust and the rubber is new....??

yes Sir.The rails and rubber are in excellent order.I will probably use a rubberised glue to fix once installed.

usually there is no need for any glue..but if you used it ,used it on rubber to rail not the glass there is not much space for an extra liquid between rubber and glass..it is usually tight fit..
