brown basket weave upholstery

On the search for some brown basketweave material for my SC door cards. Probably not leather at this point, most likely a vinyl embossed product. First go around will be a practice to refine my skills with a goal of moving to a woven leather.

All black interior that needs some contrast. Cognac or similar brown to work with black door top, stock black handle/arm rest and door pockets. Future plans call for brown leather on the sport seats and a vintage 4 spoke RS wheel with a brown wrap.

Limited web searches so far and I've found some options but haven't quite hit the right texture and color tone. Thanks ahead for any recommendations. Pelican rocks

I’d contact the Achtung Kraft team or Carbone. Both do a ton of custom weave options.

If your budget allows, I agree with this. It's what I did on my current 72' build. The quality is well worth the wait.

I've used both Heritage Upholstery and Autobahn with great success.. Coincidently both principals are called Tony. Both great guys...knowledgeable, helpful and fair.

Hope this helps.

progress

Thanks for the input. Making good progress on my first door panel and found some interesting vinyl at the local fabric store. Not exactly the fabric I had in mind but will work well before I move on to the good stuff

Discussions at the fabric store discovered they too are Porsche owners and very helpful. I did paw through a pile of leather remnants and found beautiful brown leather pieces with the vent holes similar to headliner and seat insert material. This leather was tagged as a Ferrari leather with just the right color, texture and feel. Can't stop thinking about it. Also have four samples coming from Kovi

This whole project is a direct result of the fine work I've seen on this site. AG81 and many others have demonstrated the improvements and personalization possible and I was excited to see the responses. I've been to both the Achtung Kraft and Carbone sites for inspiration. Their work is over the top but as many have shown, diligent owners can produce similar results. Pelican and you all are my guides. Thanks so much

practice door panel complete

Some challenges getting the bolts/screws to line up through the fabric and panel but all worked well. Lower photo also shows 4 Kovi fabric samples. All of which seem too dark. My preference is more of a cognac and add more contrast. Some of the older BMW's with brown interiors and black trim were my inspiration.

Reasonably happy with the results, actually turned out better than I expected, considering the fabric glossiness and darkness. Still on the search for the right fabric

Thanks again to the posters who helped me complete this rather fun project
