1971 Inner Front Fender Drive Side horns/ Container for Fuel tank
Hi,
I'm a bit confused with the driver-side inner front fender area where the horns are bolted below the headlight area. There is a "container for the fuel tank" (911.201.073.00) with a strap. Is there anybody that has nice photos of this area? I'm also curious as to how the hoses get run from eh tank to the inside of the car? Porsche PET doesn't show very well how they run. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;o) |

This should give you the info you are looking for. I deleted the vent chamber in the L/H fender and charcoal canister on my 1970 911T running Zeniths.

On a 1977, the expansion tank hoses collect gas fumes from the gas tank. You’ll notice the steel niplles on the left side where these hoses connect to and from both under the fender and the top near the gas tank. The 2 hoses run thru trunk/firewall and into the interior down behind the floorboard/pedal cluster and attach by clamps again to steel lines running thru the tunnel and out into the engine compartment to the charcoal canister.

It is a very useful system. Helps vent fuel tank, contains the gasoline fumes. Item 2 in the diagram.
