Wayne: New Idea for a Pelican Parts Wizard......

OK, now that I own a CIS car (MB 380sl) I can really sympathize with the SC crowd.

But as I read this board and one of the Mercedes boards it occurred to me that a CIS troubleshooting/part purchase guide would be valuable. Both these sites have at minimum one CIS related question a day.

If I have a hard warm start the Wizard would provide a series of questions which when answered would lead me to the most probable causes...perhaps with descriptions of tests to verify. Hopefully after any/all tests are performed a relatively informed purchase can be made.

I'd imagine this to be valuable for electrical and mechanical systems as well.

Thoughts?

Repair or R&R is easy in most cases. Its the troubleshooting that leaves a lot of us cold. That's why the knowledge of folks like JW and other professionals is so valuable. It takes a long time to gain that knowledge since a lot of it is based on experience. Fortunately we on this board have the good fortune to be able to access the experience of others. Even if they've only done a particular thing one time. Another name for the requested "Wizards"could be..."Troubleshooting for the uninitiated". Thanks to all for the wealth of knowledge you all have/are providing.
