Random or envoius vandalism is meaningless. But he who performs it probably feels good afterwords.

But only until I find him....

About a year ago someone stepped onto private property and vandalised a mailbox for no other reason than impressing his 19 year old drunk & noisy friends. Unfortunately for the vandaliser the person living in the house wasn't asleep and both faster and stronger than the vandaliser. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/vuur.gif

I'm resonable and peaceful, but when people cross my borderline I follow the eye for an eye philosophy.

TimT,

My hat is off to you! Very good show!

Disproportionate retaliation at my house means meeting my 45 Colt.

Years ago in San Francisco 2 young idiots were spray painting buildings. (Self expression or graffitti?)

Two older guys saw them, held them down and proceeded to spray paint the offenders head to toe. Hair, leather jackets, nothing was missed. No punches were thrown-no blood.

Police arrived and took the names of the youthful vandals then arrested the older guys for assault. Only in California.

I really don't get the keyed car thing or any othe vandalism for that matter. At least ti was just the window, so much cheaper and easier to fix than interior, paint job, motor, whole car. In the words of the bumper sticker that I have seen several times.

Mean people suck!!

Hehe, maybe you should go for the R type lexan windows.

Well you know that WAS assault. They could have made a citizens arrest, and held them until the cops came. But instead they tried to take revenge. Vandalism is sensless, and terrible and I have had more than my share of broken windows, key-ings, and midnight hit-and-runs. Those guys could have let the rule of law decide the punishment. Instead the opted for a kind of mob justice. Vandalism is bad but it is only a property crime. Attacking another human being is violence. Justice would have been served if all of them rotted in jail.

I'm really sorry about the broken window. I had all but one window broken out of my Golf once and I continued to finding glass even years later when I cleaned it before selling it.

I guess I'm fortunate, several years ago I had the tire valve caps stolen off of my Honda while parked at the Mall of America in Minneapolis (Land of Ten Thousand Potholes). How clever! It takes a real hardened criminal to pull such a job. Many people will do whatever they please if they think they can get away with it. The real test of charactor is what you do when nobody is looking.
