Using a pertronix coil with cdi

Is it OK to use a 3 OHM Pertronix Coil with a CDI box? I have a '69E/73T motor. thanx steve

The car will run but no it’s not really ok. The primary resistance should be very low around .6 ohms. The cdi system is designed to use a low inductance “transformer” coil. You won’t hurt anything by using the standard ignition coil but you’ll be reducing the efficiency of your ignition system.

It's insignificant!

Look at Pertronix coil # 45111 - 0.6 ohm and epoxy filled. I have been running one for years.
