Rebel Racing 911R tail lamps
I really liked the look of these for my previously modified 76 widebody, and ordered the carbon fiber set from Clint at Rebel Racing about this time last year! By springtime, the carbon supply chain was still broken, so I got the kit with the fiberglass housings instead.
I figured on "some assembly required", but quickly realized that step 1 (involving a large hole-saw cutting thin glossy fiberglass!) had a real risk of total destruction of my new housings! So I came up with a different way of building them. I've been posting My Classic Mini work on my YouTube channel for most of YouTube's existence. So here is a start-to-finish video assembling and installing the ultra lightweight 911R tail lamps: https://youtu.be/7Lgn2rW_PIg

Thanks Jemal, I like your thought process, your mounting system is well done .
No need for the large holes in the back either. Ian

Thanks Ian! I'm trying to think of an elegant way to incorporate reverse lights, perhaps a small LED I can build into the housings... I also eliminated the rear bumperettes and heavy bumper shocks and cleaned up the rear bumper.
Planning LED license plate bolts if I get flagged for no license light. I could probably find a way to make a bright rear-pointing LED at the license bolts. And this is the very best place to ask... Has anyone else done this?

This is what you want for reverse lights:
I have a set and they drip right into the R housings HELLA 2BE 001 259-061 Indicator - 12V - mounting - left/right https://a.co/d/fxSyL4t

Thanks gentlemen!
I actually thought the kit would come with that Hella lamp, including the clear reverse. However, none of the Hella lamps are dual-element, and there are only 3 bulbs per side, so the supplied amber lower lens is the running tail lamp. You can see how it works at the end of my video. The yellow top is the turn signal, the round red is the brake light. I thought about grafting in a dual element holder for the red lamp, and I may still do that, but thought I'd assemble it as provided first.
