Oh come on, it's not that bad......just need a wheel, RS door panels and the seat bolsters done in black. This car was on traderonline.com a few months back listed in the high 20s. Not sure what it'll get now, but somewhere in the high teens would be my best guess.

I dunno, but IMHO:

"Interior is all new! Over $6k invested in leather seats, new headliner, carpet (including under bonnet)."

Was not money well spent, cause if I bought the car it would have to go!!

So what do you think it would cost to get back to stock RS interior, isn't the dash the vinyl material or was this the stainless?

Thanks

Actually, I could stomach yellow and black race seats (it would be loud, but that is sometimes ok).

But 74-89 seats retrimmed in 1/2 yellow leather scares me.

What do you think of the rest of the car? It looks like a nice car?

Actually, except for maybe the choice of seating colors, it is a well thought out reproduction.

It 'looks' like a nice car but with those mirrors , wheels and steel front fender it is no RS replica . In the spirit of maybe? the race seats in black and yellow may well be the missing link that ties the 'theme' together . With an interior like that I think people will like it or loathe it , it's just about personal taste really . I had tartan cloth inserts in my stock Targa seats and I think they were tasteless and hideous , the only tartan I like involves it being worn around a sweet young things waist in small quantities , if you get what I mean!

I think RS front fenders are steel... from the factory.

When you move into a pre-owned house, you usually buy new furniture and paint the interior to your liking, and houses are a much larger initial investment (usually) than a 911. Other than the highly personalized interior and the no-look "6-cylinder" engine, the car looks fine to me. When you buy used, you usually don't get to pre-order what you want. Is this why many, otherwise good cars, get overlooked or chastised on this and other internet forums?

Yeah, get rid of those awful 7/8 x 16" Fuchs.

I can't speak for owners in the U.S of A. but here on our tiny bit of real-estate I find many owners frown on non-standard cars out of some sense of misguided pride in owning a non-modified 'badge' . (Sorry if that offends anyone , I'm not trying to) but one of the great things I've find about owners generally on this forum is their love of DIY ownership and their ability to customise and modify as Porsche so often did and do .
But if I owned the yellow 'replica' I would definitely sell the wheels and mirrors and get some period ones .

OK, I admit it. I like the interior.

But then again, I'm the kind of person who has to have something that's different from everyone else.

Sherwood, you spent more on your house than your car? Don't any of you let my wife hear about this...

6911S,
Yeah, but I'd like to get a bigger garage w/an attached house. I'm sure you know what I mean.

yellow is my color, the car looks great...but I would have the interior all black! Well...maybe a yellow Momo horn button and yellow harness.
