heater control query
I am not getting any cabin heat from my SC. Used to work. The controller between the seats is making all the usual whirring noises when you set it, then stops. The blower fan is working at same time. But no warm air is coming from the vents. So I figured the variable flaps under the car had to be open - and they are. Fully. No matter where I set the controller to. They are not stuck open - free to move.
So where does my problem lie? I suspect in the controller connection to the wires on the flaps? It looks like a PITA to get at, so hoping for some confirmation before pulling it apart. Another query - how does the cabin temp sensor snorkel thing work? I can't find it in my wiring diag for the system. Thanks. Alan |
Auto heat has a servo attached to a rod that controls flaps. Perhaps the rod is disconnected? Access door on drivers side of box can be removed to look.

Yes - that seems to fit the diagnosis. Didn't know about the access door - will check. Thanks

Alan - does your SC has autoheat - or are you just referring to the levers to control the box flaps?

Auto heat. 911obygn diagnosis correct. Rod had pulled off. Trick was to find why. Endless up/down on the hoist - and was a jammed cable.
Both seats out and the job is reasonable. Fixed now - had a spare outer cable. It takes a fair amount of grunt to move the lever that controls the two flaps - must be the tension of the return springs on the flaps. Thanks Alan |
