Door stop repair: Pt 2
Greetings! Long time since my last post. Still have and drive the 930 regularly. That’s probably how this problem got this bad.
About 9-yrs ago, I performed Pt.1 of this repair by installing the Pelican Repair Kit along with a new door stopper. Unfortunately, that new stopper was very very tight, and that 1st year after the repair probably served to weaken the inner metal even more. At some point after that first year, I nodded the stop to make it a little more loose, and was able to get 8-yrs. About 1-mo. ago, was closing the door and heard a horrible metal tear/grind noise. When I took it apart, this is what I have left: |
