Door latch not engaging with window frame installed

I'm having trouble getting my window frames installed. With the latching mechanism installed and no frame the doors close nicely, but when I install the window frames the latching mechanism can't hold them fully closed. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if there's any kind of shimming that's needed?

No frame, fully closed:

Provided that your door isn’t bent or installed crooked then it’s likely a matter of just adjusting the window frames.

You can loosen the bolts that hold the frames in place and reposition them a bit- not a ton, but a few mm might be all that’s required.

When I put new seals in my car after paint I had to do that to ensure that the doors closed. No biggie.

You might need to put a washer/shim between the window frame and the door to move it away from the latch a bit. You should be able to remove the bolts holding the frame in, reach up into the door and slide a washer in there as you re-insert the bolt to hold it in place. You might just need to move the bottom away from the door latch, or you might two additional washers, one for each of the two top bolts.

The door latch is brushing against the window frame and catching on it. Be sure to check with the window in the up and in the down position.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Where exactly does part #13 go?

I've got it in the little recessed pocket where the screws sit to fasten into the window frame. Maybe they go on the inside of the door? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1673218082.png

That part installs from the door jamb side. It keeps the bolts from inserting too far into the window track.

I'm thinking that maybe I need to move the latch on the door jamb outwards. The door closes flush now, but I also have a new door seal, so maybe that needs to flatten out in order for the door to close securely and flush to the panel of the car.

Edit: that doesn't really make sense. Without the window frame, the door closes with good latch engagement.

This looks like a good resource:
