Smoking Oil Filler Tube
Lately, when I go to check my oil with the engine idling, and when I remove the oil filler cap, there is some blue/white smoke "puffing" out of the oil filler tube. At 900 RPM, the ouffing is perhaps three per second, not chugging, but it does seem peculiar. Oil level always turns out to be between and two lines.
Any ideas? |

I would guess blowby past a bad ring or three. Perform a leakdown test and it might help the diagnosis. Bad valve guide(s)would indicate via exhaust smoke.

It would be interesting to see the results of a compression and leakdown test.
