Paul Abbott, Performanceoriiented.com
He's in Salem, Oregon. Been rebuilding Webers for ever, including mine.

Unfortunately Paul is having some health issues and isnt taking on more sets for the unforeseeable future. I wish him the best, he has helped a lot of people on here. This is why i started the thread as I was on his wait list.

Pierce Manifolds in Gilroy Ca will rebuild webers. I never used them for rebuild but I did order a rebuild kit from them.

Sorry to hear about Paul. He did an absolutely stunning set of Solexes for me once, and has always been really generous here on Pelican with his knowledge.
Try PMB in Salt Lake. It’s part of the services they now offer.

FYI on many of the "Weber Carb" rebuilders. I contact several and when I told them I had 40IDA's the reaction was "those are the Porsche ones right!! no thank you "WE" don't want anything to do with them"
Paul did mine and I hope he is well. Joe

Weird. I've done several of them over the years. Not much different than any other carb..

Years ago I contacted Inglese Induction about restoring a set of IDF 44s for me. They do crazy cool Weber stuff with Ford GTs. They didn’t even give me the courtesy of a reply.

Unless you need shafts re-bushed or stuff that requires special machinery, they’re relatively easy to re-build. I did mine. If I can, anybody can.

FYI - I have the 8.2mm reamer if anyone is looking for one. I successfully re-shafted my Webers a few years ago using it and don't think I'll ever use it again. It was quite pricy! Alfa1750 on ebay probably has the best remaining selection of Weber parts.
I used my lathe and it was pretty straight forward. Rest of the rebuild is no different than any other weber. Karl |
