Sport Shocks Option

According to the option codes on my car, obtained from PNA when I gave them my VIN, my car has the Sport Shock Absorbers option (474). But, my car has the Boge struts. I haven't looked at the inserts but have no reason to believe there are not the Boges.

What gives? Am I not understanding the option code?

Only guessing, but maybe the difference is between gas charged and hydraulic shocks/struts.

I believe the cost cutting measures were already in -place in 86....and Porsche then used Boge gas charged shocks for "sport" shocks that year....previous versions were Koni or Bilstein.

I plan on replacing the inserts this year, should this make a difference in my choice of replacements?

You can put anything you want in the rear.
Front Boge housings accept Boge, Koni, or Bilstein.
See my write up under Koni and my name...some interesting other options.
