3.2 intake
Just out of curiosity, does anyone sell an efi conversion for the sc? Like the intake, injectors, FPR, lines, motronic, and a custom set chip. If not it would be worth it for someone to consider this.

Isn't it irritating? When I came to the world of Porsches it amazed me that there weren't half a dozen laptop programmable EFI setups available like there are for every other car with performance pretentions.
The tricky part is the manifold. If someone would make a decent single throttle body intake manifold that would accept some cheapo standard injectors and throttle body from a Chevy or something, that would be more than half the battle. With a crank (or pulley) trigger and appropriate modern sensors, ANY EFI system would be able to control it. You'd need various size runners to match the various intake port sizes of the different displacements. Maybe you could standardize the manifold, and have different adapters that fit under them? Another Pelicanite did some nice work adapting his SC's CIS to EFI here http://www.geocities.com/tbitz/cis_to_efi.html |
I'm working on a kit that will be for SC's/3.0L engines. I'm finalizing it on my own car right now. It will include complete 3.2 style intake, computer, injectors, etc..
It will be running sequencial injection, I'll get more HP/Torque, much better fuel economy, smooth idling and start right up hot/cold..and will not smell like CIS! Basically a better deal all the way around. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I will keep you updated on the kit. Thanks! |
Sure--very interested. Are you going to open up the ports to 41 mm or whatever the 3.2 manifold runners are?

Axeman, I would be interested. How hot of a cam can you run with this system? What cam are you going to run? E - mail @ josie9@cox.net
thanks, Jim |
