Oil thermostat rebuilding /threads

I have a member of this forum for well over 20 years. The are always posts about the oil thermostat housings with stripped threads. Mine is stripped, what I have not seen is how someone has repaired or fixed their thermostat. Even used ones have photos and descriptions of “threads in great shape” what I am wondering is if anyone has figured out a good way to repair the threads???

Has anyone used these? Looks great . As long as there are some threads left. But I am wondering how well they seal and how much remaining thread is needed ?

Davis,

You need epoxy like JBWeld to secure the thermostat thread savers to the THERMOSTAT.
