911 Quarter windows
I am considering changing the fixed quarter windows in my 84' 911 to the earlier flip out design. Can it be done, what issues do I need to be aware of?

If they are the same size, you'll have to drill/tap a hole in the C(?)-pillar which will be tough because there needs to be a spring in the clip, the metal may not hold, and any problems might require replacing the headliner.
Also(on a 70) the four receptor threads at the front in B-pillar are part of a plate that's actually inside the pillar and non-replacable!!! On mine the M5 screws had been stripped and replaced with M6s. I've stripped and repainted the car inside and out, installed carpet and headliner, rebuilt the carburators etc... but the quarter windows were the most difficult task I've done and wouldn't recommend it. |

I'm considering putting fixed ones in my 71T - how difficult is this conversion?

I never heard anything about drilling any holes -- I did this by getting a set of the old window frames and putting them in -- vents included.
