NoVa Pelican Head DE Fest

Unfortunately work conflicts didn't allow me to participate in the Potomac DE at Summit Point today and tomorrow but I did manage to sneak out for a few hours this afternoon and show some support for our fellow NoVa Pelicanheads.

marcesq, BW911, rs911t, Green 912, nhurto, cmartin and driley were all there and enjoying the track time. I'll post more pictures from trackside once I scan them in but here are a few digi's from the paddock.

Here's marcesq's 77 3.2:

Here's BW's 85:

And here's Greg's T:

I can't believe I have to be in the office tomorrow ... uggggggh!

Nice pics Doug E and great of you to support the NoVA DE guys. I was thinking of the boys while I was wrenching on Lu's 2.4L. Oh well, my time will come...

Thanks for coming out, Doug. What a fantastic 2 days, and beautiful weather for a change too. We were very fortunate. Among the high points was watching Marc perform emergency body work on his left rear fender, after it started collecting melted rubber, while the rest of us stood around and offered our best advice. We missed having both of you out there on the track.

Jim, we had a blast. The company and weather couldn't have been better. I'll post some adventure video later - DougE has the trackside stills that go along. BTW, that's Kris Edwards 72T in Gulf Blue and Orange livery.

I'm so jealous. Sunday was hangover day for me and later on I had show off the new ride to some friends from out of town. Mon. I would definitely have rather been at SP.

It is very hard to concentrate today at the office.

More track time can't come soon enough.

And that would be why we are posting here instead of tending to our desk material

I'm headed out to Summit on June 21-22 with NASA (www.nasaproracing.com). If anyone is itching for track time, these guys run a good event and there may still be space available.

Yes, it was hard. But, another benefit of in-car video is reliving the experience (sorta) over and over and over and ....

Speaking of video...

My adventure at the bottom of the chute can be experienced here. Can you say MORE BRAKE!!? Note my instructor's emphatic attempt with closed fist!

The only mishap during two very good days.

I apologize for the sorry audio. I'm experimenting with various mic configurations. This one is clearly not the one...

Scott: You dog !!! Took all of those pics and didn't even share a picture of your absolutely flawless 914. That was a work of art. Guys that car was perfect. BTW you caught me using my favorite tool again (have mallet will travel).

Greg: Notwithstanding your brief excursion, I was flattered to share paddock space with the guy who was thrashing the America. I had a very good view as you were blowing by me .

reesestewww: now thats what out chapter is talking about.

Marc,

The bubble removing tool is my fav... The Potomac PCA tech inspection was way cool. Meeting people and enjoying cars, from the underside!

My favorite picture...

The other mid engine car on a lift was this red thing...
