Oil leak from this AAR?

Discovered some oil weeping out of this AAR. Here's a video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/q46FpdujDS3gkuAb9

Seems like a lot of oil to make its way all the way from the alien head face hugger boot over the sensor plate where the metal air line joins up, and also a long ways for the rubber line that connects with the cold start injector. I guess oil from the big breather line that also goes into the alien head could make its way over to the metal line?

Thoughts?

This is in my buddy's '81 SC coupe.

how is your engine breathing? Start it and remove the oil filler cap and see..any blow by to much or nada?

It will be a few months before I start it - still lots of salt on our Canadian roads. I do check the oil level regularly and always listen for the change in idle sound when removing the oil fill cap and then the change back when reinstalling it. It all sounded right this fall when I parked it for the winter.

Jameel,

This engine had an oil over filled history and to fix this problem, all you need is to remove the AAR and the aluminum vacuum line/s and degrease them. Brake cleaner or some cleaning solvent will do a good job. Air dry them and install them back.

Thanks Tony. Do you think oil buildup in the AAR could prevent the movement of the gate inside? And if it did, what would be the effect?

Jameel,

The movement of the slide valve will not be hindered by the presence of engine oil. But would impede the flow of metered air to the throttle body. You need to remove the AAR and the aluminum vacuum lines to get off the sludge out.
