how to remove door handle actuator/wire?
How do you remove the assembly with the actuator wire?
It looks like the assembly should slide off the barrell but a little pressure perpendicular away from the handle isn't doing it. I cleaned around best I could but it won't move and I don't want to apply to much force... Any ideas?? Thanks.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1675038730.jpg |
Small screwdriver under the side of the clip and it pops off.

so John it pops up and off (vertical) not slide off the barrel? Thought about that but it looked a little brittle! Thanks for answer.

finally,
I just did this on my car, as JW offered, small screwdriver, take your time, it will pop off. Make sure you take a look at all of the fittings and orientation of the cylinder in relation to the central lock sensor etc... |
Thank you Johan and Chris. When you pried off did you work from side the wire is NOT attached on?
As far as orientation the cylinder slipped out already but I saw a good YT vid on reassembly. Fingers crossed. Course I managed to scratch the handle finish (it peeled off way easier than I would have expected) so now I really need to remove this wire to refinish them again. Everything is a slippy slope. |
I started opposite of the wire connection side. Once you get it pried up a bid, you will be able to grab the side with your fingers and pop it off. You will see the lip that snaps it into place once it is off. Again, make sure you take a picture of the orientation, and reinstall the lock screw insert. Removing and installing handles let to buying sidewinder handle ratchets :)
