3.6 Conversion Wiring Question A/C

Hey Everyone,

I am looking for someone with familiarity with 3.6 swaps and wiring. I have an 81SC with a 3.6 conversion. (1995 993 engine,) It has the conversion harness from either Timmons or Patrick Motorsports. (It came with the car.) I am adding a custom AC system (993 compressor, Classic Retrofit Evaporator and airflow box, and twin fender mounted condensers) and want to trigger the DME to have the "high idle" by grounding pin 40 when the AC is on. This corresponds to a white and orange wire on pin 9 of the 14pin connector about a foot from the DME. The conversion harness has this pin connected to pin7, and pin 13 inside the plug and also has two wires running to this grouping. (Green and redish purple.) I can't seem to figure out where these two wires go and am wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for either conversion harness? I don't want to cut into what I don't understand....

Thanks for any help!

just a question as I am working on A/C on a 3.6 swap right now... Why not just go all in with classic retrofit and fit the electric compressor as well? I believe performance will be far better...

of course there is the cost of it....

Sgroer, Very reasonable question. I went this route for 2 reasons. 1) I live in Phoenix and so want the most capacity possible. The engine driven 993 compressor has the capability to "compress" more refrigerant than the electric compressor so my thoughts are that it should actually have even greater cooling capacity. 2) It is a lot cheaper.

I just finished getting it charged up and tested and in the cool 60 degree weather it is working fantastically. I can set the thermostat to bellow freezing if I want to and it has no trouble getting there and cycling back and forth at partial duty cycle. True test will be this summer though.

Congrats! I am hoping my CR full system works reasonably well in the humid TN air. We shall see!

Update: AC system is working great and I did not add the wire to the harness and idle with AC on is still just fine, smooth and no stalling issues.
