Battery Wiring Clean up

I replaced my battery back in April and it was a major PITA to swap not due to the enormous size of the battery but due to all the ancillary wires on the positive post.

I would like to clean up the wiring by transferring all the ancillary wiring as well as the wire to my Battery Tender to a distribution block. I would feed the main post on the block with a heavy wire but I am unsure what gauge to use. I was thinking 6 Ga.

The terminal bus bar is a https://www.quickcar.com/red-terminal-buss-bar-w-covers-57-8012/

The main post on the bus bar is ¼" and the terminals accept smaller ring terminals.
What do you think would be the correct size wire to feed the bus bar?

Any opinions or ideas are welcome. I would like to clean up the wiring and make it easier to access the battery positive clamp.

The bus bar is temporarily in place with double sided tape.
TIA Mike

6ga is enough for 60+ amps continuous current. Unless you have a Classic Retrofit AC system attached to that terminal, I'd go with 8ga. And I'd use the fine strand cable to make it easier to route and move. Use copper crimped AND soldered ends.

Thanks for the input. I agree with the idea of a fuse panel. Since there are wires that go directly to the starter I am unsure regarding the fuse amperage.

Cheers

I'll leave well enough alone until I can get a definitive way to achieve my goal. I have no idea as to the fuse or circuit breaker amperage for the starter wires and will not mess with them.

I have searched the BBS and do not come up with a clear cut method.

Please let me know if anyone has done this project and what you used.

Thanks

I tackled the same thing recently in addition to installing relays for the headlights. As part of the headlight install I added an auto-reset circuit breaker for feed to the relay. I mounted some of the ring terminals that were attached to the batt terminal to the + side of the circuit breaker. At the same time I replaced the the battery terminal with one that clamps the wires in the terminal as shown. All of the larger factory red wiires fit in the clamp with the main wire.
