Broken rear bumper extension bracket stud
 
One of the studs that the rear bumper extension bracket mounts to is broken.

I was thinking of grinding the remaining stud flush and then drilling it out to insert a rivnut.

Thoughts?

It looks like the material may be thick enough that you can thread the hole after you drill through the middle of it. Otherwise I would oit a bolt through the hole from the back side and tack weld it in place.
