Auto Heat

I have a '83 911SC ROW that has a few electrical problems. Just trying to sort out the auto heat controller. What resistance should the interior exterior sensors measure?
In the Haynes manual they refer to checking the voltage between the brown and red/white (OK on mine) and brown and gray/blue wires (no reading) - ignition and lights on. But Haynes don't show the gray/blue wire on the circuit diagram...so where does it go to?
With the controller connected it will run the servo, so I guess that is OK. Also in what position should the dash controls be in for the fan to come on?
My rear demister, rear fan, cig lighter and fog lights also do not work, so that may all be related. Anyway, at the moment just trying to fix one thing at a time!
