Backdate steering wheel 3.2 Carrera

Hi, has anyone backdated their late model (SC / 3.2) 911 steering wheel, to something like the 380mm RS Carrera or earlier 4 spoke? If so hub issues?

Just looking for something different for my 86 cab.

Cheers
Lyndon

the only issue is the clearance at the top around the instrument brow. The 914 wheel is fairly flat (no dish) and the brow over the instrument cluster was extended in the later years. It will clear, but your fingers will hit and rub against the brow if you dont find a suitable spacer to bring the wheel more towards your chest.

Brown 911

Keith at Zuffenhaus in North Carolina made a 380mm 4 spoke RS wheel for my 89 Carrera 3.2. Beautiful.

I can make a photo, but it looks exactly as pictured on their website. I have the380mm RS wheel with the hockey puck horn. The website will not show this wheel will fit the 84-89 Carrera, he had to make a special adapter for it to fit. Google Zufffenhaus Products or call704.821.2546 Good luck

their (Zuffenhaus) hub adapter listed on their site is for aftermarket 6-bolt style wheels. it doesn't look like it will work with a factory wheel, where the wheel is secured using the factory nut on the splined steering shaft. Bill K

Current source for hub adapter?

Backdating bump - I tried searching already. I am trying to mount an OEM lwb 380cm wheel onto a 1977 steering column.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone knows of a current source for a steering wheel adapter that will allow for the installation of an early lwb wheel onto a G-body? All of the adapters that I can currently find are for aftermarket wheels like Momo.

Thanks for any leads that you can provide!
