oil hardline reinstall
![]() Finishing with an elephant cooler install and struggling to get the hardline clamps in the perfect original locations. Newest technique, that gets me close, is to push the hardline up tight at the rear of the wheel well, and secure the oil line clamps at mid-rear wheel well. Then get the cooler, lines ,etc all connected up and in its happy spot and the upper pipe clamp location is too high for the clamp bolt to align. This clamp bolt is a fairly significant lag type screw. I've tried some man handling but those lines are strong (as they should be) and not yielding much to my pressure. I've connected things up in different orders with secured oil lines and hanging free and that special clamp is about an inch plus short and the lines don't fit as tight in the fender/tub seam. Do I just get a longer clamp or make one and push ahead or learn some new tricks for the perfect fit? Test with the car on the ground showed over and inch tire clearance with the wheels hard left. Thanks ahead for any council |

IMHO, unless you are going for concours points, do what you need to do.
To not tighten anything until all pieces are in place so you can move them around a bit. Just have them fitted up loosely. Get everything aligned and then tighten.

![]() Tried bending my own longer clamps and finally settled on the copper coated "plumbers tape". Everything feels very secure. What are the thoughts from the Pelican crew? Open to better options but whatever I use must be flexible enough to fit into this tight spot and then be bent into position and bolted to the tub Thanks ahead for your thoughts |
