r gruppe?

because i am fairly new to the game. what is r gruppe. i have a 73 911t that i am turning into a rs clone and have seen r gruppe lettering on some cars at willow and buttonwillow.im sure that it is a class but what are the resticions . i have a 77 2.7 motor that was machined and race preped at ollies to go into the car. it just seems that i might be building a car that i could only run with guy with cup cars or something.thanks!

Joe, Use the search function on the top of this forum and learn more than you ever wanted to know about Rgruppe and various people's opinions. It is a club for hotrod early 911s, not a racing class, though.

rumour has it that its some kind of secret club of privledged Porsche owners... from what I hear, you must sign away your soul, your first born daughter for virginal sacrifice and inital the contract in blood from your palm in order to be chosen for membership
