Hi. I want to know what is the lenght of the + battery cable (the one that goes from the battery to the starter) on a 1977 Porsche 911. I want to change that cable (right now I know how to do it) but in order to change it I need that someone tell me the lenght of that cable. Also what is the gauge (2, 4, etc.) of that cable or what cable should I use, etc.
Please Help Me! Zyron16

I'm assuming the battery cable is similar to the one on my 86.
I did this when I replaced my rear harness and it is a pretty nasty job. Your probably talking 10 to 20 hours. Is your cable damaged at the two ends, if so, you are probably way better off just to replace the connectors. Sorry, can't help on the length. Tim |

I have the battery cable removed from my car now when I get home I can dig it out of the box and measure it.

The lenghth of my battery cable from the tip of the battery lug to the tip of the starter lug is 137-1/2 inches. I can't tell you what wire size the cable is. The part number for a starter cable for a 1977 911 is 911 612 022 22. The battery terminal part number is 911 611 898 01. The rubber cap over the starter terminal is part number 999 659 006 50. attached is a picture of the cable.
