Facet pump on late 2.2 T

I have a late 911T running on webers. I want to convert it to run a facet pump. This car has a rear mounted Bosch fuel pump with 3 fuel pipes connected to it. The facet has 2 connections 1 in 1 out.

I did have an early 911T also on webers with the earlier front mounted pump. That pump had 2 connections so swapping to the 2 connection facet was easy

However here I have 3 connections. I thought it was just the MFI cars that used 3 connections the 3rd as a return to the tank

Cannot see the reason for a 3 connection pump on a weber installation that would normally run with 2. Both cars use the same IDA webers as far as I’m aware.
Can I just block off the 3rd pipe at the carbs to fit the facet or will it cause a problem

Pictures will help, if you have twin nipples on the carb you can block one off.
A regulated return is really the only way to get reliable constant fuel pressure . @3psi

As Ian says, pictures will help.

The Bosch pump with three connections is for a fuel injection system, either MFI or CIS (what did it originally have?). The Bosch pump delvers high pressure, on the order of 75+psi. That's WAAAYY higher than carbs need, or can tolerate. To use the OE Bosch pump you NEED a pressure regulator to dump that high pressure down to 5psi or less.

The good news is that the Facet pump is a low pressure pump. So you can plumb it directly to the carbs as you proposed, and then block off the return line to the tank (both the return nipple and the return line need to be blocked). However, even better, as Ian says, is to put a fuel pressure regulator between the Facet pump and the carbs, and route the return from the FPR to the tank via the return line you already have.

Send pics.

Found this 3 connection pump for a 911T:

https://www.rogerbrayrestoration.com/shop/911t-fuel-pump-1969-71/

Our car has the weber option. The above is listed for carbs on a specific part number which might be for the weber installation.

Is it possible that standard fitment for 911t 2.2 was zenith with 2 connection pump with an option for webers which then used the 3 connection pump
