What is the function of this part on a 930?
 

Hi, I noticed the hose was loose on mine and have wondered about it's function ever since.
Appreciate the help

Part of the air injection system. It’s a vacuum change over valve and is connected to both the left and right diverter valves. The air pump alternately pumps air through the Left diverter valve into the exhaust ports and the right diverter valve in to the Catalytic converter.

Hey Richard, thanks for the thorough answer. The hose wasn't connected to it and the rubber is splitting so I used a zip tie to connect it temporarily.
