Help on '71 911T fuel lines

I have a question for the more experienced ones here. I've looked high and low and can't find anything that references the solid fuel lines running through the tunnel on my '71 911T Targa.
I've successfully removed every line in the tunnel, preparing to blast, prime and paint eventually, and I'm literally down to one last one. This car has 2 stainless steel fuel lines, one appears to be slightly larger in diameter that the other. I was able to remove the small one with minimal difficulty, but the larger one appears to be impossible to pull out (the front) without dropping the entire front suspension. The crossmember support is blocking it.
Can anyone tell me:

– If it is possible remove this line without having to do that?
– What the 2 different diameters are on the lines?

You have a send and return line. Is your fuel pump up front or in the rear? Are you running MFI or carbs?

I've got carburetors, not MFI, and based on the diagram in the Porsche shop manual I'm pretty sure the one I successfully removed was the suction line, not the return.

Are you trying to save the 50-year old fuel lines?
I just cut the bends off at the front and pulled them out from the rear on my ‘71. Replaced the lines with excellent quality lines and fitting from fellow Pelican, Len Cummings (search this forum).
Cheers,
Johan

LOL – well, I guess that was the answer I should've expected. I'm not superstitious, but I was sort of focused on reusing them. I'll check out Len's feed and see if that's an option. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah…..some things you just have to suck up and replace when you are maintaining/restoring a 50 year old piece of metal. I personally don’t fool around with fuel, electrical, and brakes….if there is a modern replacement that has been proven more reliable then damn originality!
As an aside, pulling all that stuff through the tunnel is something that I only want to do once.
Cheers,
Johan
