Rasant EFI Help Needed

Fortunate enough to buy a new old stock PMO EFI ITB with Rasant engine Management and Infinity AEM for my 1979 911SC 3.2SS rebuild. I looked thorough the Rasant website and didn't see anything but 964 installation instructions. I have sent numerous emails to Andrew at Rasant but have received no replies for obvious reasons. Does anyone have the install instructions for a 911SC? I just have questions on ECU placement, harness penetration, etc. Thank you all!

I am a Rasant customer as well and have the .pdf from 2018, which appears to be for an SC...

PM me with your email address and I will send.

Same exact situation with me. Was it lucky ? or unfortunate that the system i got
is missing the oxygen sensor and both cam, crank sensors !!!!
Rasant was bought by Group 2 in Seattle , few months ago , but trying to get a response
through phone , emails , even Instagram ,has been futile.. So here i am , asking for help
finding those sensors..Anyone with any info or with the same system ,AEM Infinity ecu
please help !!!!

Digging through my emails with Andrew from when I purchased the system 6 years ago or so, he said that the O2 Sensor is the following:

https://www.aemelectronics.com/products/sensors-connectors-accessories/wideband-sensors-bungs-accessories/wideband-o2-sensors/bosch-lsu-4-2-o2-sensor-with-connector

As to the cam/crank sensors, I did not get his unit because I was previously running an HPX ignition control crank sensor system which worked with the AEM when I removed the HPX. The crank sensor with toothed wheel and cam sensor are available from Clewett Engineering. I used their 60-2 toothed wheel for the crank.

You can look in here for the crank sensors as kits or parts (since I had Clewett make me a custom pulley for the supercharger, they installed the toothed wheel for me). I also got the distributor plug and their sensor.

Here are the actual sensors for cam and crank

https://www.clewett.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_30

If in doubt, give Clewett a call. They have been very helpful in my dealings with them in the past. Hope this helps.

Does this help? This is in the rear passenger-side footwell area.

I remember that the install manual did not give too much detail as far as measurements as to where to make the hole for the wiring.

Thank you again. Everything helps when there is no response from the source

Hello again,

I first contacted you in April 2024 about issues with my Rasant Motec M130 system, in particular the wiring.

The system was purchased prior to you taking over, but because of my work/travel I am just now installing it into the car.

I am very close to putting the engine in and I was just checking to see if all the sensors and plugs were good and to my dismay I found that the supplied harness, cam position sensor and crank position sensor plugs do not match up.

The harness has a female 4 pin Deutsche plug for the crank position sensor (stock Porsche location on the flywheel) and the cam position sensor has a male 4 pin Deutsche plug and are labeled accordingly.

Unfortunately, the sensors themselves are reversed - the cam sensor is also male plug and the crank sensor is female.

So, are the labels reversed and all is well plugging in as per how the plugs are set up or do I need to reverse the plugs?

It would be perfect if you could send me the schematic for at least that part of the wiring? It'd save a lot of effort and relieve some anxiety.

Thanks!

D

Update: I have been in contact with Rasant, we are working together with the people who built the original harness, I am pretty confident we will get it resolved.

I will update both the relevant threads when its all OK.

BTW - I actually am quite happy with the Rasant package, so please do not take my plea for help as a complaint. They put together a good package for a good price, but like anything in life (and especially on old Porsches), the real world is always complicated and rarely trouble free.
