Oxygen sensor connector, harness side
 

Hello,

I have a broken oxygen sensor connector on the factory harness.
Are there other options other than Kroon wire harness ??
Do you see anything against wrapping some electrical tape around this to help hold it together??

The Lambda Cable Boot fits pretty tight and I brought the bevel down on this replacement. Used a little silicone grease to help ease it on and take it off the next time.

Yelcab1 - the User was Louie85. Last logged in was 2018. I just tried to email him as I had requested one years ago and he didn't have any available at the time but stated he would be making another batch.

I recently purchased one from Louie85. Very nice quality. See if he has any left, seems they make them in batches.

I bought one from Louie many years ago. That very same connector is used in many German cars of the era.

Mine has held up just fine.

Update :
Received a reply from Louie and he stated the oxygen sensor connectors are no longer available from him.

You might try a local BMW or Mercedes dealership, or even a VW dealership. Most German car makers of that era used the same connector. And they all fall apart in the engine compartment.

As others have suggested. Purchased from Kroon. I had it within a couple days and it was perfect.

I purchased a Green Wire Cable Assy, which was too short to accomplish the way I wanted to install. The new cable has a connector on each end. The opposite end of the distributor end is a common “Fuel Injection” type connector. I’m guessing Porsche supplies a connector on each end for serviceability??? It would be easy to change out the next cable. I did find the one that is specified for my 911SC was only about 6 inches. That puts the new inline connector very close to the distributor. I found the one specified for the 928 is 10-12 inches and it puts the new inline connector further towards where it blends into main harness. More out of view if keeping a very busy engine compartment a smidgen cleaner. More original looking, pick your own reason. I found the new harness side connector that matches the new Green Cable end on eBay.

I used the Kroon one also.The first one broke the first time I unplugged it but they sent me a new one after sending them a photo. Maybe a weakness in the material of first one.
Received the second one and have had no issues with it.
Great customer service being that it's not a cheap item.

Anyone have an old "broken" connector they could send to me? I've purchased some raw material and would like to use it as a mockup/model to make one myself.

Here's a related question: why did Porsche use this particular connector for this purpose? I've never seen this kind of connector except for this use. A connector is a connector, and if you need to extend shielding across a connector, there are plenty of standard electonic connectors which do just that.

It was an off the shelf part. Many German cars of the era used the same part. Mercedes certainly did.
