Whats this orphan relay behind the cruise control? box?

Still finding lose wires in my recently purchased Bring a trailer 911.

I found a lose orange wire in the frunk. My guess is that it went to the old Clifford car alarm that had been yanked out before I got the car.

Orange wire goes into a wire harness with 2 purple wires. Those wires go to what looks like a relay thats tie wraped to the cruise control mount. Its clearly not OEM.

The purple wires look like they connect to the master brake cylinder , but its really hard to see in there without tearing open all the duct work.

Any ideas on what the wires or relay might do?

I dug into this relay a bit more.

I took the cruise control mounting bracket off and found that the purple wires coming off the relay were attached to yellow wires. I tried to trace the yellow wires back but access is too limited to see where they lead.

The orange wire was disconnected, and the other wire coming out of the relay was a ground wire.

I unplugged the relay and removed it. I left the plug and wires alone since I was unable to trace the wires .

My guess is that the yellow wire is likely the ignition power wire and tripped a relay for something.

I also noticed that there are 4 holes on the smugglers box lid. My guess is that part of the alarm system was there at some point and the orange wire and relay are related to that.

It might have been for an old aftermarket alarm system.

So last week I took the relay out, closed everything back up prided myself on cleaning up the electrical mess a little more.

Nice day this week. Went to start car and it would not turn over. Battery was fine. I thought for a few minutes what could be wrong and realized the only thing I did was remove the relay. So panic set in as I hunted for the relay I feared I threw out. But I got lucky and it was in the box of old Porsche parts. Replaced the relay , it would turn over but not start. Tried a few things but no go.

This morning I went out to start the trouble shooting process, figured I would try again before I did anything and she started right up.

I'd like to remove the relay and replace with a wire connection, but I cant really get in there without tearing the fronk apart. It will have to wait

It still could have been part of an anti-theft system, something to interrupt the start circuit. You'll just have to chase down where the wires go.
