Mystery wire
Working on the clock in my 84 911 and discovered a disconnected thick black wire behind the dash. The wire has power at all times, even with the key turned off. Not sure it's a factory wire. May be from removed radio although it's located right behind the clock. Any ideas of what it might be for?

Looks hefty. Radio no, but could have been for an amp or another aftermarket accessory (under dash mount?), it’s that female spade terminal that limits what device it may have been connected to.
Hopefully you can trace and find it by removing altogether at the fuse block and it’s not spliced anywhere else. |

I think EC900 may be right. Had radio and amp removed so this wire probably is a remnant of that installation. Thanks for the help!
