Help with year fuel tank
Good morning-I have a 1970 911e roller that will be getting either a 3.0L w/ CIS or a 3.2L EFI.
Sorry for the worse than stellar pictures but this is the fuel tank that came with the car and I was hoping someone could eyeball it to help determine what year the tank is and if it’s suitable for either of those engines. Thanks in advance for any help/coaching you all can offer!

OK - maybe I need to reframe the question.
Since this tank has provisions for a return line it should be OK for a CIS or motronic set up, correct? I had thought that the CIS set up needed a later year (correct for year the CIS is from) to prevent losing fuel pressure at low fuel levels and lateral forces…

It looks early but the idea is complete.
The later tanks have the swirl pot in the center bottom that feeds the inlet pipe to SC and Carrera and probably mid 70s CIS. Reason for it has to be looked into Bruce |

Good morning and thanks for the response, let me do some more digging but Porsche didn’t do things like that randomly so presumably there is a good reason for the change.
Thanks
