Fuel Gas Tank options for 1970 911
I need to replace my fuel tank. I'm running a 2.8 twin plug with MFI and plan to go to EFI in the future. What would be the best tank option without going to a fuel cell? I definitely need more capacity, thinking 85l.

I like my RS plastic 85l. Mine was manufactured in 73 and no problem with it, no rust and it’s lighter. They were reproducing them a few years back, too

If it's not a race car and you want to keep a spare tire/wheel, be sure to account for that.

It is not a dedicated track car, but I don't need a spare... The plastic tanks are typically ~2500. Can I run a later model Carerra or SC tank? I think those are 85l.

Dansk reproduction 100L tank with baffles. Still works with the spare and bolts right in. You'll love the 26 gallon capacity.

SC tank drops right in, and I believe you do not need to get a new fuel sender, unlike the 100L. SC is Less than $400 from Dansk. Does not fit full size spare though. 22.5 gallons.

You can use your same stock fuel sender and just know when the light comes on you have 10 gallons left.
It's looks old school hot rod and vintage to me. I've never liked the look of the later G body tank in an 69-73. MFI engines drink a lot of gas. The 100L tank is great and it's metal. With the plastic tanks as cool as they are you need to use a skid plate under it to be safe. I don't trust the plastic tanks. The 100L tank will accept a spare tire with a 185 size tire.

I have a plastic tank on my ADV motorcycle and beat the crap out of it. They are very tough, probably tougher than metal tanks in taking impacts.
