CIS Gas Tank Whirl /Swirl Pot Clips
My CIS 911 has sat for the past 10 years resulting in rust in the gas tank. I ended up soaking the tank in white vinegar (maybe 12 gallons at 5% solution and the rest water) It cleaned up well but the rust damaged the whirl pot clips (along with the sender and tank screen) and now the whirl lid is rolling around in the tank.
Is it worth it to find some replacement clips or remove the lid from the tank and run it? Any idea where to find clips? What does the collective wisdom say? Thanks, Tinker ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Mr. Walker. It appears good used tanks are hard to find? I'd prefer to keep my orginal tank as it still appears to be in good shape. Just trying to figure out how to replace the missing clips.
Interesting to note the replacement tanks from Dansk appear to come without a top to the whirl / swirl pot based on GT2BH's post and photo from 2014? ![]() Does anyone know if this is still the case for either than Dansk or JP Group Dansk (are they the same?) replacement tanks? Thanks, Tinker |

The new tanks from Dansk don't have the top on the swirl pot. So easy way is to remove the top.
