Wheel Speed Triggers

Anyone have a good solution for wheel speed triggers on pre-ABS pre-964 air-cooled 911 cars? Especially at the front? At the rear, I could always install a trigger wheel on the CV joint but I am looking for a solution with a bit more resolution.I'd like to have at least 24 trigger points if possible.

I'll take some measurements tomorrow and see what I can come up with, because I'll be going down this road too.

Are you looking at a range of tooth count? 24 is minimum, but max? How many teeth on the rear? I know Dorman makes a few tone rings that can be adapted to the back side of the hub, around where the seal is located, and the sensor can be adapted to the backing plate (or at least use the threads where the backing plate normally mounts).

Well, I don't have a limit but the sensor I am using imposes a limited based on air gap and tooth width specifications. Here they are:

Since I use two-piece rotors front and rear, I thought about mounting a trigger "wheel" to the inside of the rotor using some or all of the bolts holding the hat to the rotor. But, I don't want to block air flow into the rotors so that may preclude that option. If I could 3D print the trigger wheels, I might be able to get around that issue.

I don't have any drawings with what I have in mind...and I am not an artist or even mediocre at drafting.

I will be interested to see what you come up with.

Scott - are you adding ABS?

Something like this would start my brain working more.
