Fuel pump requires TWO fuses?
I'm trying to track down the mess I've got with my electrical system without somehow rewiring the whole car or at any point making it undrivable. One of the issues I've encountered is that my fuel pump requires both fuse 17 AND fuse 16 to be inserted for it to run. I'm looking over the service manual, and can't figure out why that would be the case. Fuse 16? Sure. It's specifically for the fuel pump. But why fuse 17, which just goes to the hazard flasher and the windshield defogger relay? It's got 3 heavy gauge wires coming out of the bottom of the fuse, which is one more than I'd expect. Did someone re-wire the fuel pump to go through TWO fuses before the pump itself? Or am I mis-reading the diagram?
