I asked my dyno shop operator about those RF sensors, since they used one at the smog test I went to the week before I last dyno'd my car. He said they work fine at low RPM, but there is too much noise for them to work accurately at high RPMS, so he takes his tach signal off the wiring. This made sense to me because the smog test is done only at idle and then at 2500 RPM to test emissions. The engine is never run up to redline, like on a HP test.

Maybe it's their RF sensor that's faulty and not your tach?

Tom, that's my feeling. The graph doesn't agree with my built-in butt dyno. No way the torque drops 30% above 4200rpm.

With the displacement, cams, and torque to power ratio, i'd leave your redline where it is. If your cars peak horsepower is at 5.7k then what's the point of going to 7.2k. As far as your actual power output, i think there's something wrong, with 10.5:1 and 2.8 L's you should be acheiving about 205-210 ftbs at the flywheel. And because of peak power placement, about 220-230 should be expected at the flywheel. And i don't think that the tranny looses that much power so there has to be something wrong.
